About Julianne

Julianne is a professional violinist as well as a certified canine massage therapist and certified canine trigger point therapist.

She attended graduate school in violin performance at the University of North Texas. Julianne performed with the Fort Worth Opera, Dallas Ballet and the Dallas Summer Musicals for over 20 years. In addition, she performed with many world-renowned artists and groups such as the Trans Siberian Orchestra, the Moody Blues, Josh Groban and Frank Sinatra. She conducted the North Texas Youth Orchestra and was a music educator for over 25 years.

Working with her hands and understanding the minute sensitivities of musical pitch and nuance is one of the most important reasons Julianne enjoys and has helped many canine athletes from around the world. She enjoys working regional and international agility events as well as conformation, disc and flyball events around the country.

A puppy who was thrown out of a pickup truck in a garbage bag changed Julianne’s life. She rescued this abandoned puppy and named him Brecker after jazz trumpet player Randy Brecker. This was in hopes her husband who is a professional jazz trumpeter would not give her ‘flack’ for adopting a puppy. Brecker opened up the world of agility to Julianne and as a result of this demanding sport, she went on to become certified as both a canine therapeutic massage therapist and a certified canine trigger point therapist.

Team Brecker went on to earn their USDAA championship title, UKI championship title, and qualified for the USDAA Cynosport trials several years in a row.

Because she understands the importance of the physical needs that are unique to sport dogs, Julianne continues to expand her knowledge and education in the fields of canine fitness, canine enrichment and canine scentwork. In order to further enhance her feeling and touch, Julianne is studying with a Reiki master and is hoping to complete all 3 Reiki levels soon.

Julianne has helped dogs from all walks of life; pets in need of muscular relaxation and tightness to international canine teams needing increased range of motion, flexibility and maximum speed on the agility course. She is in demand at national events such as the AKC Nationals, UKI Opens, USDAA Cynosports, AKC Invitationals, the UKI Invitationals and world team tryouts.
